Dubious Assessments

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®
(MBTI)

Skeptics

MBTI is a personality assessment developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and her mother, Katherine Cook Briggs. Their aim was to create a tool to indicate, validate, and put to practical use C.G. Jung's work on psychological types. It is quite easy to find websites that for a small fee will let you take an assessment similar to MBTI online. When it comes to personality assessment, there are always problems of standardization and objectivity. Most results to come out of the test are broad and can be applied to a wide grouping of people, like a good horoscope.
